My Grandfather fought with the 102nd Ozark Division ww2. I know he went to France with them and was in Germany even after war ended. I’m not sure what the exact infantry unit! He passed in September 2000. I don’t see his name James Francis LaGrange in TAPS?

My uncle Charles Lysaght was a S/Sgt in the 102nd Div 405 C. He was kia on or about December 3/4 1944 near the Seigfried Line. Max Martin’s memoirs states that in July 1945 he was present at the dedication of a soccer field in Germany named Lysaght Field (misspelled Lysacht in the Martin memories) and that the members of 405 C all had their pictures taken in front of the sign. If any of those pictures remain in anybody’s possession I’d love to get a copy. Thank you very much.

Our Uncle Louis D'Alonzo served with the Ozarks in Germany in 1944. He is still alive and will be 99yrs this coming August. He never really talked about his experiences in the war until a friend interviewed and video taped him last summer as a remembrance for his family. He would love to communicate with any of the guys still living from his outfit.

My father, Andrew S. Novak, served in the 406th from 1943 to 1945. He was from Hopelawn, NJ. He never spoke about the war other than to say how cold it was. He received 2 Bronze Stars, which I first learned of a few years shy of his 82nd birthday. Thank you to all of the men who served.

My Grandfather, William "Bill" Stark, was in the 102nd. Your Taps link has him in the 407th-Service, which I'm having trouble finding information on. I can't seem to find him in the group photo either. He received a Bronze Star and Battlefield Commission near the Rhine River in March, 1945. Like a previous comment, my grandfather traded his cigarettes as well but for Hummel dolls, some of which I now have. If anyone has information on him, I would be extremely grateful

My grandfather Robert Joseph Goss of Baltimore, MD was a member of the 102d and was injured near Welz, he was hit by exploding shrapnel. He was known for trading his cigarettes for candy bars. He passed away 2 weeks ago and I am trying to research his tour of duty. If anyone has information or stories to tell I would love to hear them.

My grandfather Abe Mitchell was a part of the 102nd. Every year in Bethel, CT we would have folks over for Labor Day. It remains the most special of my childhood memories. The men and their stories colored the world for me. I loved them all and I miss them.
